THE OHOPE CHARTERED CLUB HAS A NUMBER OF SUB CLUBS THAT ORGANISE EVENTS, TOURNAMENTS AND INTERESTS FOR MEMBERS.

GOLF: MENS

The mens golf adjunct meet each Wednesday Tee off 12.15pm for 18 holes 52 weeks of the year, usually at the Ohope Golf Club. However from time to time visits are made to other local courses. The Wednesday haggle is a mixture of play formats and is competed in the fun manner that dictates all the clubs activities.

Other activities includes weekend trips, assistance with Parent Club Golf Tournaments, Annual xmas dinner party and prizegiving evening. They also compete in clubs NZ national tournaments throughout the North Island.

 

GOLF: LADIES

The ladies golf adjunct are not as active as the men however are constantly organising events and trips away. The ladies always enter the Clubs NZ Nth Island teams events and the ladies Nationals when in the Nth Island. We our proud of our lady golfers whom were the National Clubs NZ title holders in 2004. OUTDOOR BOWLS:

The Bowls adjunct is active in representing the club at Clubs NZ and interclub tournaments. The adjunct has succesfully hosted a number of tournaments based at the club. A strong affiliation with the Ohope Bowling Club which provides all year artificial greens, assists in the adjunct promoting bowls through club bowls days and events such as the Jonny Merritt memorial trophy.

 

8 BALL/SNOOKER:

The Ohope Chartered Club is blessed with many talented players, however no adjunct is officially operating at present.

A strong contingent meet each Friday to enjoy a unique format of mixed pairs. The winners take home $50 each and runners up $20. A $5 entry sees you have a minimum of 3 games and you are randomly appointed a new partner for each game. Individual points for wins and losses see the top eight individuals again be selected partners to contest the semi's and finals. (best of three). This format means men and women and all skill levels compete and learn and mix socially with one another. This is a great way to meet new people. "I must say the womens game has improved incredibly because of this format."

SNOOKER 8 BALL AND DARTS CLUB CHAMPS START AROUND THE BEGINNING OF JUNE EACH YEAR. REGISTRATION BY MAY 31st ON THE FORMS PROVIDED BY THE TABLES AND BOARDS.

TUESDAY LADIES

A social network of Ohope Ladies who meet each Tuesday afternoon at 2pm. They discuss local news(gossip) swap recipies, play Rummikub and organising outside interests. The Bar is always open and we welcome new participants.

FISHING

The fishing adjunct is extremely active, when not organising their own in house Tournaments which involve multiple species and average weight prizes with often over $3000 in cash prizes they are assisting the club with our two annual big tounaments. The club understands that we are a fishing club so prizes and species are geared around fun and those that can be caught relatively easily and are accesible to most fishermen or women. We have two major one day tournaments those being the PLACEMAKERS in January and The HART MARINE EASTER FISHING TOURNAMENT.
